Swan Lake

Last night we got to see BYU's ballet performance of Swan Lake for free by being guest ushers.  I had never heard of being a guest usher before.  One of Josh's friends and his wife had signed up, but couldn't do it.  So we took their place.  It is not a bad gig.  You are required to wear a white shirt and black pants or skirt and black shoes.  We got there maybe an hour before and wrote our names on our name tags.  All we had to do was pass out programs once the house doors opened at 7 (the show started at 7:30).  Josh was at the main lobby and had the busiest door.  I was upstairs chilling with 2 other guest ushers since they apparently overbooked.  They were 2 girls who were high school juniors in high school.  They were refreshing and entertaining.  We didn't have too many people walk through our door.  A few minutes before the show started, we got our tickets scanned and went to sit down.  And we actually had pretty good seats.  Especially since we didn't pay anything for them.  I have never seen Swan Lake performed before.  The closest I got was the Swan Princess movie.  It was a very good show.  It always amazes me how they are able to tell a whole story with just music and ballet, no words or dialogue.

Chicken Parmesan

I've never made Chicken Parmesan before, but thought I'd give it a try.  I've been looking for new recipes to try to find ones that both Josh and I like to start a recipe book for our family, instead of just using recipes that I have just because I know how to make them.  I wanted to branch out.  And I've always liked Chicken Parmesan at restaurants so I thought I'd give it a try at home.  And since we have morning church, I'd have plenty of time to make it for dinner.  I used a combination of these two recipes from food.com and Favorite Family Recipes.  I didn't make the sauce and just used the Prego I had in the fridge.  But I did follow the second recipe in the fact that I just browned the breaded chicken in some olive oil and finished baking them in the oven and let the oven melt the mozzarella cheese on top.  I was pretty impressed with the finished result, quite tasty, if I say so myself.
